Averill "Avery" Linder Avery Linder, age 41 of St. Charles, Il, passed away unexpectedly at his home, Monday, April 16, 2007. He was born to this life on February 2, 1966, in Joliet, Il. the son of Floyd O. and Lois (Lyman) Linder. Avery now rests in the loving care of his Lord and Savior. When he was a toddler, he moved to Geneva, Il with his parents and his older brother Andy. The two of them grew up collecting baseball cards and comics, playing ball, swimming and enjoying every minute with neighborhood friends. Vacations took them to family destinations where they grew close to their cousins and relatives. In his middle school years, Avery excelled in soccer and track, won two conference titles and set the school record for the 100 yard dash. He enjoyed being in the Geneva Boys’ Choir and acting I n school plays. After graduating from Geneva, H.S. in 1984, e was employed by the U.S. Postal System, working in the Carol Stream Distribution Center for the past 20 years. Avery enjoyed current events and was well versed in politics. He held strong convictions and possessed the ability to express them convincingly. His "letters to the editor" were published in local as well as national media, including U.S. News and World Report. He was also an avid fan of professional sports, rooting especially for the Chicago Cubs! Because of his interest in genealogy, Avery has given a priceless gift to his family. The pictures, named and stories of may relatives have been preserved for the benefit of generations to come. Avery was a private, sensitive young man who will be remembered by loved ones for the courage he gave to his life’s journey. He is survived by his parents, one brother, Andrew Linder of Geneva, Il, an aunt, Lillian Ries of Peoria, Il, An uncle and aunt, Lee and Joan Lyman of Sandpoint, ID., and one nephew Adam Linder.Five cousins and a close family of dear friends.MEMORIAL A memorial has been established in Avery’s name to be used to provide counseling for people struggling with depression or other personal issues. Following cremation, a memorial visitation and funeral service will be hled Friday, April 27, 2007 at Lord of Life Church, corner of Rt. 38 and LaFox Roads. Visitation will be Friday morning from 9:30 am until 10:30 am with a service to celebrate his life to follow at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Dr. Barry Kolb will officiate. Serices entrusted to Conley Funeral Home, Elburn.
