Date of Death

June 23, 2021

Carol J. Holterman, age 87, of Maple Park, formerly of Lombard, IL, passed away peacefully at home, cared for by four of her granddaughters, and surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, June 23, 2021.

She was born December 24, 1933 in Hodgkins, IL, to proud parents Roy and Rose (Thatcher) Klotz.

Carol grew up in Hodgkins  and LaGrange for a time but graduated from Downers High School.

Carol and George Holterman met through mutual friends, and the rest as they say, was history. They were united in marriage and began their new life together in Lombard, IL.

Carol began her working career alongside her mother at plastic company. In 1969 she was employed by Packey Webb Ford in Glen Ellyn making out service reports, later becoming the receptionist and added many other “hats” during her tenure. Later she worked at Family Ford in West Chicago and Henry’s department store in Geneva.

George owned midget race cars so of course, Carol became his biggest fan and supporter. Classic cars filled the horizon for both George and Carol and many car shows ensued. Carol blessed with the gift of baking, making everyone’s favorite for each and every visit. She had a huge movie theater popcorn maker, so each occasion had regular, caramel and cheese popcorn. Large hefty bags were always sent chockfull of popcorn after every gathering. She was the most loving and dedicated mother to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her beloved dogs who were her constant companion. She will forever be missed.

She is survived by three children: Nancy (Michael) Maroscia, Bill (Theresa) Holterman and Linda (Tom) Belitz; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and a family of friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband George, her parents, Roy and Rose Klotz and her sister, Dolores Hardesty.
