Constance “Connie” Van Bogaert, age 62, passed away suddenly in the early hours of Monday, July 20, 2015, at St. Anthony Hospital in Rockford, IL. Gone from our sight, but never our hearts, she will be greatly missed.
Connie was born March 29, 1953 to parents Joseph and Anne Van Bogaert Reines (Nee Adams) in St. Charles, IL.
Connie was a proud graduate of Mt. Saint Mary’s Girls Academy, formerly of St. Charles, and Copley School of Nursing formerly of Aurora, and earned a Bachelors of Nursing from Aurora University.
She spent her career as a nurse at Copley Memorial Hospital in Aurora until numerous back surgeries brought an early retirement, she also spent several years as Director of Nursing for a home health agency.
Connie’s passion was crafting of all sorts; cards, jewelry, and anything that kept her hands busy. Connie made sure her beloved family each received a homemade Christmas ornament each year, all signed KONI.
She is survived by her siblings Carol (Karl) Pasker, Cathy (Bob) Brill, Mary (Mark) Hauser, Bob (Linda) Reines, Patricia Reines, Therese (Todd) Augustine; 12 nieces and nephews, 1 great niece and nephew.
She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph Van Bogaert and Anne (Ray) Reines.
A visitation will be held Thursday, July 23, from 4-8pm at Conley Funeral Home, 116 W. Pierce, Elburn, IL. Private family interment will happen at a later date.
