NAME DARLENE J. EASLEY,age 78, of Elburn, formerly of Northlake, IL, peacefully passed away at her home, Wednesday, May 5, 2010. BORN: She was born February 13, 1932 in Melrose Park, IL, the daughter of Albert and Mayme (Banwart) Koppert.EARLY YEARS:Darlene grew up in Melrose Park and attended local schools. She graduated from Proviso East High School with the class of 1950. MARRIAGE: Darlene was united in marriage to Max Easley in April of 1953 and filled the next 57 years with love and memories. RESIDENTIAL HISTORY: They began their new life together in Melrose Park for the first five years until they made home in Northlake. Over the years their family grew to include six children. Darlene and Max have most recently made their home in Elburn when they moved into town in 2005. MEMBERSHIPS: Darlene was an enthusiastic member of TOPS for many years. LIFE NOTES: She was gardener whose green thumb helped grow the most beautiful flowers and freshest herbs that filled the air with their aroma. When not in her garden, Darlene loved to read romance novels for hours on end. Darlene was also a life-long Cubs fan year in and year out her passion never fading with time. SURVIVORS: She is survived by five children:Deanna (David) Combs of Geneva, IL, Ellen (John) Krikie of Burlington, WI, Chuck (Jackie) Easley of Wauconda, IL, Becky (Ron) Rogalla of Geneva, IL and Max Easley of Phoenix, AZ;12 granchildren;One son-in-law Joel Martin of Holiday Island, AR, One sister, Barbara Hanetho of West Dundee, IL and Many nieces, nephews and a family of friends. PRECEDED:She was preceded in death by her parents, her oldest daughter Maxine Martin and two sisters, Joan Hanetho, and Shirley Staelhle.VISITATION / FUNERAL Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. with a funeral service to celebrate her life to conclude the visitation at 7 p.m. at Conley Funeral Home, 116 W. Pierce St. Elburn, IL, 60119 on Monday, May 10, 2010. Private family interment will follow cremation at a later date. MEMORIAL Anyone wishing to send a memorial may make a donation in her name to their favorite charity.
