Dylan Michael Vercande, age 18, broke the hearts of many when he passed away suddenly, Saturday, February 22, 2020. He leaves behind cherished memories and a family who loved him dearly.
He was born July 30, 2001, in Elgin, IL, to proud and loving parents, Steve and Caelyn (Schultz) Vercande.
He grew in up Davis Junction and Hampshire, where he attended local schools. He graduated from Burlington Central High School with the class of 2019.
During his high school years he made a name for himself working at the Chick-n-Dip in Hampshire where he served everything with a smile.
Dylan had a deep and abiding love for his sisters and he was proud to be a big brother. He was a very “punny” boy, letting jokes fall right in your lap whether you laughed or not. Dylan’s smile was contagious and he changed a room just walking through the door. He had a creative spirit, was adept at building his creations and loved playing video games. Music ruled at high volume and he was proud to wear the shirts of his favorite bands. Dylan’s work ethic was strong and impressed his employers, all of whom respected Dylan as someone special. However, that work ethic may not have been mirrored at home as evidenced by the state of his room and general environs, but his dedication to physical fitness kept his body in as good a shape as his mind. When it came to dress, comfy was king and Dylan lived for comfy; lounging in his hoodies, sweatpants or basketball shorts, whatever was easy and comfortable ruled the day. Dylan was the type of person that everyone loved to be around and will forever be missed, not only for who he was to all those who loved him, but also for the dreams of what might have been.
Dylan is survived by his parents, Steve Vercande and Caelyn Vercande; two sisters: Mia and Laci Vercande, extended family and a group of friends that spanned generations and all walks of life.
He now joins his maternal grandmother, Connie Schultz, who welcomed him with open arms and a heart bursting with love.
