Date of Death

Feb 24,2016

Judith “Judy” Angell, age 61, of Kaneville, passed away quietly into the evening hours of Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at her home, surrounded by the love and prayers of her family.
She was born on August 25, 1954, in Evergreen Park, IL, the daughter of George and Bernice (Schrieber) Kostopoulos.
Judy grew up in Carol Stream, IL, and attended local schools. She graduated from Glenbard North High School with the class of 1972.
Following graduation she worked as an inspector of decals at a local company. It was readily apparent that it wasn’t her dream job, so she traded it in for the man of her dreams.
Judy met Don Angell through a friend and it was pretty much love at first sight. Time held no sway for the new couple and following a whirlwind courtship, they were married on March 30, 1974 in Bloomingdale, IL at St. Paul Presbyterian Church.
They began their new life together in St. Charles where they began raising a family. Don worked tirelessly outside the home, while Judy worked just as hard, making their house a home and filling it love and laughter. They were blessed with a son, Josh, in 1979 but it was only after they welcomed home a daughter, Jessica, in 1984, that made the family complete. A year later, the family moved to Kaneville where they have since made their home. It was during those years that she worked at the Kaneville Library, eventually reaching the rank of Senior Librarian known as “Miss Judy” to all who entered it’s hallowed stacks.
She was a faithful member of the Kaneville United Methodist Church in Kaneville for many years.
Judy was a “get up and go” type of girl who was proud of motorcycle license and in love with her Harley-Davidson. Her hands were deft not only in the garden but in also restoring antiques. She had an excellent eye for “diamonds in the rough” at different local auctions but that was nothing to her eye for photography. Judy won a local wildlife photography contest several times. Judy was an all-around artist and crafter at heart, blessing friends and family alike with her homemade jewelry. Judy’s heart was always at least two sizes too big. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for her fellow man. She was always open to accepting people for who they were, in all walks of life, but all that paled in comparison to love she had for her family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Don Angell; two children: Josh Angell and Jessica Angell; her mother, Bernice Kostopoulos; five siblings: Nina (Bill) Lindsey, Michael Kostopoulos, George Kostopoulos, Kristine (Scott) Haukreid and Diane (Rick) Hines; many nieces and nephews and a community of beloved friends who will miss her dearly.
She is preceded by her father George and one sister Georgina Porep
A memorial has been established in Judy’s name to benefit “Stairway To The Stars” which supports Kaneville United Methodist Church and it’s continued outreach to their community.
