LaRee Jacobson, age 81, of Batavia IL, passed away on August 16, 2013. She was born December 6, 1931 in Rankin IL, the daughter of Lawrence and Rebekah Barr. She married Roger Jacobson on November 27, 1953, the same year she graduated from Illinois State University. LaRee taught school for two years in Arkansas. Then she taught in North Aurora for 35 years, where she earned a master’s degree. She was an avid reader, writer, and entertainer. LaRee and her husband Roger performed together throughout the state with their act "Homegrown Histories." She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. LaRee’s personality and wit touched everyone who knew her. She was truly one of a kind. Survivors include her loving husband Roger, two sons Jay and Lou (Sue) Jacobson of Elburn, a daughter Libby Wolkoff of Highland Park, one brother D.J. Barr of Bayle’s Lake, two grandchildren Jacob and Ben, three step-grandchildren Colleen, Tom, and Paul, and three great-stepgranchildren.LaRee was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Ronald Barr and Dwayne (Virginia) Barr.
