Lois V. Divine, 96, St. Charles, passed away on Friday morning, December 30th surrounded by the love of her family, at Michealsen Health Center in Batavia. She was born April 22, 1920 at the family farm at LaFox, the daughter of D. Clyde and Bessie (Brundige) Divine.
Lois graduated from the 8th grade at LaFox School in 1934, from Geneva High School in 1938, and from Sherman Hospital nurses training program in 1944. She was employed as an R.N. until her retirement in 1978. She was a member of United Methodist Church of Geneva. She was active in the area of family history, which led to her joining the Daughters of the American Revolution and writing the genealogies of each of her grandparents. Lois and her sister Lyla were founding members of the Elias Kent Chapter of the D.A.R. Lois was a regent of that D.A.R. Chapter. In addition she was a member of the Questers, the Wasco Ladies Aide and wrote extensive genealogies of each of her grandparents. She was also involved in local history; as such, she spearheaded the writing of the History of LaFox, Illinois published in 1987. She had lived in St. Charles since 1962 and at the Bickford of St. Charles since 2011.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Bessie Divine, and her siblings Merilyn Divine, William Divine, Lyla Johnsen, and Ramon Divine. She is survived by 6 nephews and one niece, Steven, Rodney (Diane), K.C. (Phyllis), and Todd (Linda) Johnsen; and David (Mary Sue), Peter, and Virginia Divine; also by great-nephews and nieces, Marc-Paul (Melissa) Johnsen, Grant Johnsen, Ryan (Teresa) Johnsen, Coley (Dan) Pawlikowski, Ben Johnsen, Kaitlyn Johnsen, Tara Johnsen, Cory (Amanda) Divine, and Cara (Ben) Biddick; also by great-great-nephews and nieces, Evelyn and Leia Johnsen; Olin and Scarlett Johnsen; Adara, Brooklyn, and Clara Divine; and Kalea and Catherine Biddick.
Visitation will be from 10:00am-12:00pm, Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at the Conley Funeral Home in Elburn. Funeral service will follow at 12:00PM at the funeral home with Reverend Esther Lee from the Geneva United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will then be at Garfield Cemetery in Campton Hills.

Burial will follow at Garfield Cemetery in Campton Hills.
