Louise E. Flood, age 98 formally of DeKalb, IL went to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the DeKalb County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in DeKalb, IL.

Louise was born Sunday, June 10, 1917 in Aurora, IL the daughter of Daniel and Zerah (Richardson) Pierce

Louise and the love of her life, Charles Flood were united in marriage on June 30, 1937 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Maple Park. In 1951, Charles and Louise bought a grocery store in Aurora, the same store where Louise once worked. After ten years, they sold the store and moved to Kaneville where they made their home and raised their family.

Louise was a faithful member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Maple Park where she was a lifelong member of the Altar and Rosary Society.

She leaves behind one daughter Kathy (Rick) Halsey, two grandchildren Stephanie (Ryan) Mickley and Brian Halsey, and four great grandchildren Andria Halsey, Max Ruppert, Wes Ruppert, and Brie Ruppert, one great-great grandson Aaron Davis, and many nieces and nephews.

Louise now joins her husband Charles, her parents, three brothers, one sister and one grandson-in-law; Brian Ruppert.

A visitation will be Thursday, April 28, 2015 from 9:00 – 9:45 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Maple Park, IL. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the church. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Maple Park.

A memorial has been established in Louise’s name to benefit her church: Checks may be made to “St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church”, please note on the memo line “in Memory of Louise Flood”, and mail in care of P.O. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the church.

A visitation will be Thursday, April 28, 2015 from 9:00 – 9:45 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Maple Park, IL.

Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Maple Park.
