MARIETTA BUTT, age 52, passed from this life into eternal life on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at St. James Hospital, Chicago Heights, IL. Lifted up by the love and prayers of her family, Marietta now claims the promise of our Lord. BORN: She was born January 25, 1958 the daughter of James D. and Mary (Shepard) Butt in Aurora, IL. EARLY YEARS:Marietta grew up in Aurora and attended local schools. As a young girl she helped take care of her mother and remained at home for much of her early years. Marietta struggled with adversity and learned to cope in many ways. LIFE NOTES: Marietta loved videos and movies and established over the years a collection of knick-knacks of which she was very proud. Her most prized possessions became religious icons in whatever form in which they came. Marietta was the faithful keeper of the family tree and maintained an accurate record of everyone in her growing family. A detailed person at heart, she amazed others by her exact recollection of dates, times, places and names. Marietta always remembered to send cards commemorating their special days and included the post script, "May God keep the all of you in his arms". SURVIVORS: She now leaves four siblings:Theresa (John) Bishop of Aurora, IL, Lawrence "Larry" Butt of Aurora, IL, Dan (Estella) Butt of Montgomery, IL and Don (Amber) Shepard of Aurora, IL.She also leaves many dear family members as well as her loving fiance Garry. PRECEDED:She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary Butt.VISITATION / FUNERAL Visitation will be from 3-4:30 p.m., Saturday, April 10, 2010 at Conley Funeral Home, 116 W. Pierce St., Elburn with a funeral service to celebrate her life to begin at 5 p.m. Interment will follow cremation at a later date. MEMORIAL In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name. Checks may be made to the "Marietta Butt Memorial" and mailed in care of P.O. Box 66, Elburn, 60119.
