Mary D. Bradley, age 76 of Kaneville went to be with her lord on May 4, 2016.
Mary’s life had an inauspicious beginning during a major snow storm on Christmas Day in 1939. Mary’s father had to pick up the doctor in his horse and buggy and race to the family farm in Ebensburg, PA where Edward L. and Helen Randall received the best gift that Christmas, a healthy baby girl.
She graduated from John Carroll High School in 1957.
Mary was employed by Western Electric, Clarence Hanks Accounting, and St. Gall Catholic Church where had been a member since 1975.
She also became a member of F.V.D.T.C. in 1969 where she trained and showed her dogs earning many AKC titles. She was a volunteer instructor dedicated to informing dog owners how to teach their dogs how to be a well behaved canine citizen and the difference between trained dogs and dangerous bad tempered dogs. Her dogs were therapy dogs and visited schools, nursing homes, and were in parades demonstrating how enjoyable a well-trained dog is to own. Mary also helped train tracking dogs that became police dogs and search and rescue dogs. She was also known for riding her beloved horse “Popcorn” around the Big Rock area and occasionally riding him in horse shows. Many Kaneville children enjoyed riding him in the dog yard.
She leaves behind one son Patrick (Kelly) Bradley, one sister Helen Vansteen, a brother William (Dorothy) Randall, 5 grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
She now joins her parents, step-father Russell Springer, son Michael, and one brother Edward.
