Mary Katherine Lacart, age 94, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love and prayers of her family Tuesday October 2, 2012. BORN: She was born the in New Burnside, IL, the oldest of four, to John and Ellen Henehan.EDUCATION: Katherine was a 1936 graduate of Harrisburg High School. After graduating high school she attended Business School in Evansville, IN. MARRIAGE: Katherine began her career as a secretary for a young man Rollin H. Lacart. Before long Rollin had won her heart and they were married on October 31, 1944 in Chicago. RESIDENTIAL HISTORY: They were longtime residents of Aurora, IL. After retirement Katherine made her home in Elburn before moving to Park Manor in Batavia where she made many treasured friends over the years. OCCUPATION / WORK HISTORY:After her children had grown she worked as a secretary for the Illinois Department of Public Health in Wheaton until her retirement in 1983. MEMBERSHIPS: Katherine was a devoted member of the Elburn Congregational Church. LIFE NOTES: The most important part of life to Katherine was her family. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up. She was an avid quilter. During her years living in Park Manor, Katherine had an active social life. She served on the flower committee and fellowship committee. SURVIVORS: She is preceded in death by her children: Elenore (Richard) Eddington-MacFeelyJohn (Leanne) Lacartgrandchildren:Amy (Mike) Eddington FehrenbacherMark (Lisa) EddingtonBenjamin LacartSarah Lacartand great-grandchildrenJake, Luke, Lindsay FehrenbacherRyan, Lily, Brendan EddingtonPRECEDED:Her loving husband Rollin, her brother Michael in infancy, her sisters Helen Henehan and Clare Murrie, and her son-in-law Larry Eddington. VISITATION / FUNERAL A memorial visitation will be held at a later date. MEMORIAL A memorial has been established in her name to benefit the Elburn Food Pantry: Checks may be made to the "Elburn Food Pantry" and mailed to PO Box 66, Elburn, 60119.
