MICHAEL DUANE PARRETTE, age 62, of Sugar Grove, formerly of Michigan and Iowa, passed away unexpectedly November 12, 2011.BORN: He was born in Grand Rapids, MI, on October 31, 1949, the son of Richard and Rita (Smith) Parrette.EARLY YEARS:Mike grew up in Saginaw, MI, and attended local schools. He graduated from Parkside High School in Jackson, MI, with the class of 1967 and then graduated from Grand Valley State College in MI with a B.S. in Business. Mike work took him throughout the Midwest. Ingersoll-Rand, Tooling Systems, and Reynolds, all benefited from his expertise and most recently Mike worked for his brother’s company, Packaging Logic. MARRIAGE: Mike met Paula Taber in the summer of 1971. They were married July 13, 1974 in Saginaw, MI. RESIDENTIAL HISTORY: They began their new life together in Jackson, but moved as they followed Mike’s work throughout the Midwest. Along the way they were blessed with Michael Duane II and Jenny Anne. In 1993, they settled in Illinois, making their home in Sugar Grove in 2001. MEMBERSHIPS: Mike volunteered for the Naperville Community Radio Watch, or the NCRW and several business organizations throughout the years. LIFE NOTES: Mike loved sailing and found windsurfing a delightful challenge. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and was an excellent marksman. He loved the blues, Motown, and the harmonica. Mike and Paula were involved in several Euchre clubs and made many close friendships. He loved to talk, period. He loved his dogs, especially his Sweetness. Mike made many friends over the years and they stood the test of time. He was a born salesman and one of the best. The most important thing to Mike was being a loving husband, father and good provider. Mike left too soon to say goodbye, but not before leaving a lifetime of memories. SURVIVORS: He is survived by his loving wife Paula, Two children:Mike (Jessica Stines) Parrette of Kaneville, IL and Jenny Parrette of Naperville, IL;His father Richard T. Parrette Sr.,Five siblings:Sharon (Richard) Ulrey, Cyndy (Richard) Poulos, Richard T. (Valerie) Parrette Jr.,Janie (Richard) Lefere and Candi (Brian) Gudowski;Many nieces, nephews, cousins and of friends. PRECEDED:He is preceded in death by his mother, Rita Jo, and brother, Kim S. Parrette.VISITATION / FUNERAL Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Friday, November 18, 2011, at Conley Funeral Home, 116 W. Pierce St., Elburn, IL. A memorial service to celebrate his life will begin at 1 p.m., Saturday, November 19, with Rev. Lisa Kruse-Stafford of The Cornerstone Methodist Church of Plato Center will officiate, also at the funeral home. Private family cremation burial will occur at a later date. MEMORIAL A memorial has been established in his name to benefit his favorite charities including American Heart Association and Rover Rescue. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Friday, November 18, 2011, at Conley Funeral Home, 116 W. Pierce St., Elburn, IL. A memorial service to celebrate his life will begin at 1 p.m., Saturday, November 19, with Rev. Lisa Kruse-Stafford of The Cornerstone Methodist Church of Plato Center will officiate, also at the funeral home.

Private family cremation burial will occur at a later date.
