Michael YorkAge 17 of Elburn, formerly of St. Charles, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, December 15, 2007. Michael had struggled for years to escape the addiction that stole his youth, his love, his life from him and from his family. In their hearts, they entrust him now to the Lord who created him; to the only one who could finally save him. Michael grew up in the St. Charles area where he began grade school before moving to Mauston, Wisconsin for a time. Returning the Fox Valley as a teenager, he attended area schools and was about to graduate from Kaneland High School through the Northwest Academy. A fun loving, caring boy, he enjoyed fishing with his mom at Lake Holiday. His favorite sports were swimming and skateboarding and he enjoyed scaring his mom with his latest skateboarding feats. Like most teenagers, he was a computer wiz and very into his music. He spent hours in his room teaching himself acoustic guitar and thinking up the next crazy photo to post on his MySpace account. Trusting to a fault, Michael loved hanging out with friends, sharing a pizza or his favorite desert, apple pie a-la-mode. The "clown" in him would do most anything to make them laugh and the heart of him, would give the shirt off his back if anyone needed it. SURVIVORS He is survived by his mother, Cathy Reinert (Curt Lokoshus) of Elburn, two sisters: Ashley of Phoenix, AZ andCalee of Elburn;Seven aunts and uncles: Tammy (Wayne) Koopermann of Austin, TXKim (Jeff) McGuire of Sandwich, ILRob (Jane) Johnson of Aurora, IL, Randy (Laurie) Johnson of Geneva, IL, Ron (Missy) Johnson of Cortland, ILCarmen (Ron) Karczewski of Rockton, IL, Jenny (Ken) Whittington of Somonauk, IL, Is grandparents: Bob (Penny) Johnson of Geneva, ILAnd great grandmothers:Helen Johnson of Aurora, IL and Audrey Bennett of Paw Paw, ILAnd many cousins. 1. I remember spending a lot of time with Michael when he would come with my Auntie Myra to visit. He would always take me up and down the escalator at the mall as many times as my overly-demanding toddler self wanted him to when no one else would. I can’t remember a ton about Michael, and I only recently learned about what happened to him. I know we all miss him, I just hope he’s in a better place. May he rest in peace.
