Danielle “Dani” Christenson, age 33, of St. Charles, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, July 31, 2018, with the love and prayers of her family. Dani was born in Rockford, IL, on July 13, 1985, to proud parents Kevin and Faye (Webber) Christenson. At the age of five, Dani and Faye moved to St. Charles and attended the local schools. Every summer break, Dani visited her family up in Michigan to spend weeks on the dairy farm as their extra farm hand. She absolutely loved the farm life and all of the animals that came with it. When Dani’s mom would come to take her back home, she would fight the whole way, exclaiming that she never wanted to leave. After high school, 2003, she went to NIU where she studied nursing. Dani originally had dreams of being a Veterinarian, but found she had a passion for nursing that was inspired in part by her step-father. William “Bill” Francis Hewitt, age 82, of Elburn, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2018, surrounded by the love and prayers of his family. Bill was born in Aurora, IL, on September 2, 1935, to proud parents Elmer and Clara (Deckert) Hewitt. While attending local schools, Bill had an early morning newspaper route. The paper came by steam engine every morning at 6 a.m. In high school, he went from delivering newspapers to delivering milk for Johansen Dairy. He had an amazing work ethic that started at a young age. Bill graduated from high school in 1953, and immediately enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he spent four years serving his country before being honorably discharged in 1957. Elaine McNair Johansen, age 87, of DeKalb, formerly of Elburn, passed away peacefully at home, into the arms of her Savior, Friday, July 27, 2018. She was born August 26, 1930, on the family farm in Elburn, to proud parents, Cecil and Helen (McNair) Gum. Elaine loved the legacy of the family farm that started in 1835. She equally enjoyed working alongside her dad, planting, harvesting and tending to the livestock. When wasn’t busy with chores, she attended a one room school house until 8th grade. Elaine whizzed through her high school years and graduated at the age of 16 from Elburn High School but not before making a name for herself as the editor of the school newspaper, a cheerleader and athlete. Growing up, Woody’s family lived upstairs in the same house as his grandparents. They had the first TV on the block and one of few in the whole city; Woody bought it for his parents’ anniversary. The TV, and the brewing of wine and beer in their basement, during the prohibition, often brought the whole neighborhood to their household.
