Francis “Butch” Geisen, age 86, of Maple Park, IL, was taken home to Heaven, free of his earthly chains, on Thursday, February 13, 2020. He was born October 4, 1933, in Virgil, IL, to proud parents Nicholas and Hildegard (Welter) Geisen. He grew up in Virgil right next to the S.S. Peter & Paul Parish Center and attended first to eighth grade there. Marmion Military Academy on the Lake Street Campus was where he graduated high school as an officer in 1952. Butch’s cousin Jane was in the Peace Corps with Barbara Meyer, from Milwaukee, WI. Upon their return, Jane and Barbara kept in touch with frequent visits. Butch and Barbara eventually met through Jane, but it would be a year later before he traveled up to Milwaukee to have their first date. That date led to many more, and eventually marriage. They were married on October 23, 1971, at St. Josaphat’s Basilica in Milwaukee. They began their new life together in Virgil, IL, for the next 48 years where they had five children....

James Walter Gillett, age 81, of Elburn, IL, ascended into Heaven on February 4, 2020, after passing away peacefully at Oak Crest Retirement Center where he made his home in recent years. He was born October 10, 1938, in Muscatine, IA, the son of Kenneth and Mary (VanDolah) Gillett. Jim grew up on a farm in the Buffalo Prairie area of IL. After graduating from Muscatine Community College in 1958, Jim worked as the Assistant Manager of the Farmers Elevator Company in Taylor Ridge, IL. On April 12, 1959, James and Beverly (Nelson) Gillett were united in marriage. They were blessed with two children, Jeffrey and Julie. Annetta (nee Bicknese) Grever, was born April 18, 1917 in Wood Dale, Illinois to Fred and Lydia Bicknese and was baptized into Christ at Zion Lutheran Church, Bensonville. After her mother and grandmother died in the influenza epidemic the following year, Annetta and her father lived with William and Bertha Bunge above their hardware store in Itasca, Illinois. She continued to live with the Bunges after her father went to work on his brother’s farm. Jeffrey Scott “Briggs” Klotz passed from his family’s loving arms into the gentle care of the Lord, Sunday, January 12, 2020. He may have only lived for two months, but his life impacted hundreds. He was diagnosed prenatally with Pulmonary Atresia at only 20 weeks, surviving on only half a heart but that half was easily worth a dozen healthy ones. “Briggs” (nicknamed for the similarity of his heartbeat to that of the sound of a Briggs & Stratton single cylinder engine), made sure he not only made it to his birthday, October 24. 2019, but through Christmas, New Years, and refused to stop smiling, laughing or loving until his earthly struggles became a celestial release. Roland “Rollie” M. Thomas, age 83, of Elburn, passed away surrounded by the love and prayers of his family, on Thursday, January 2, 2020. He was born August 26, 1936, in Albia, IA, to proud parents, Morgan and Ethel (Sandeen) Thomas. Rollie grew up in Albia and attended local schools. He not only went to school but took on the mantle of caretaker for his siblings. If you needed anything, Rollie was first in line.
