Leon Shaw, age 98, of Kaneville, passed away peacefully into the arms of his Savior, in the early morning hours of Wednesday, July 17, 2019. Surrounded by the love and prayers of his family, he is finally reunited with his loving wife Lois, who has been patiently waiting to travel the Heavens, side by side. He was born December 27, 1920 on the family farm in Kaneville Township, to proud parents, Clyde and Marcia (Humiston) Shaw. Leon grew up in Kaneville and attended local schools. He graduated with the class of 1939 at Big Rock High School. He was called “Sparrow” because of his skinny legs, but those legs carried him well on the hardwood, scoring baskets with ease. James Thomas Ream (Jim), 66, of Oswego, IL, passed away on July 17, 2019 after a brief illness. He was born on July 4, 1953, the son of Robert and Phyllis (Werthwein) Ream. He is a 1971 graduate of Marmion Military Academy and a 1975 graduate of Aurora University with a degree in Biology. His younger years were spent in Elburn, IL where he perfected his skills as a butcher working in his parents’ business, Ream’s Market and Quick Freeze, which is currently operated by his brother, Randy Ream, under the name Ream’s Meat Market and where Jim continued to work until the time of his death. William “Bill” Amery, age 84, of Maple Park, IL, claimed the promise of his Savior, Sunday, June 23, 2019 after a long battle with declining health and dementia. He was born June 6, 1935, in St. Charles, IL, to proud parents, Walter and Amanda (King) Amery. Bill grew up in St. Charles and attended St. Patrick Catholic Schools. Before he graduated high school, Bill enlisted in the United States Navy and fought in the Korean War. Upon his honorable discharge, Bill returned to St. Charles. He was united in marriage to Carol Meyerhofer but suffered a tragic loss when within a year, she was killed in an accident.
