Thomas “Tom” Ostrom, age 53, of Aurora, passed away, Saturday, October 6, 2018, surrounded by the love and prayers of his family. He was born January 29, 1965, in Oakbrook, IL, to proud parents, Walter and Betty (Hunter) Ostrom. Tom grew up all over the United States and attended local schools wherever the family lived. Although most places less than a year, they eventually landed in Lily Lake. Tom’s sister was nice enough to introduce him to the love of his life. Tina Maxstadt stole his heart but gave hers in return. They exchanged vows on July 13, 1985 at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. They began their new life together in Glendale Heights and Carol Stream but settled in Aurora. After high school, Tom began working at American Engines before working as a mechanic for Snow Brothers. He was born July 10, 1946, in Aurora, to proud parents, Roy and Ella Mae (Kibling) Swanson. Gary grew up in Batavia and attended local schools. He graduated from Batavia High School with the class of 1964. Before receiving his diploma, Gary made a name for himself as a catcher in baseball, as well as a lineman on the football field. Shortly after graduation, Gary answered the call of his country and enlisted in the United States Army in 1966. Paul A. Landreth, age 96, of DeKalb, formerly of Rolling Meadows, passed from this earth into the arms of his loving Savior with the love and prayers of his family on Sunday, September 23, 2018. Paul was born in Axtell, Kansas to Alvin Earl Landreth and Imogene Temple Landreth on October 16, 1921 (although some say it was October 9th!) He was the oldest of 3 children. His baby sister Anna Marie died at 1 week old, and his sister Grace lived into her twenties when she died of a heart problem. He grew up near Axtell and was active in his local Presbyterian church and in the Kansas Presbyterian youth association. Kathryn “Kay” Jennings Probst, passed away peacefully September 9, 2018, once again reunited with her beloved “Buster” in that house not made with hands. Kay was born on May 16, 1923, in Van Meter, IA, the sixth daughter of Roy and Alma (Kimmey) Jennings. She grew up on a farm with her five siblings until 1940 when the family moved to Elburn, IL where Kay graduated as Valedictorian from Elburn High School in 1941. Following graduation, she completed a two-year business program at Elgin College and then worked as a teller at the Kane County Bank in Elburn. Kay met Robert (Bob) Probst at a dance for a Rural Youth group in St. Charles. She came home from their first date and told her sister that she had met the man she was going to marry.
