ANDREW YURKSAITISAge 69 of Elburn, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at Delnor Community Hospital, Geneva, IL where he was stricken with a heart attack. BORN / EDUCATIONHe was born October 18, 1935 in Lithuania, the son of John and Maria (Povilitis) Yurksaitis. His family came to the U.S. when Andrew was sixteen and settled in Connecticut. Later moving to Chicago, Andrew attended DePaul University while serving in the Army National Guard. He graduated from DePaul with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and went on to earn his master’s degree in Finance from Northwestern University, Evanston, IL.OCCUPATIONThrough the years that followed, Andrew lived mostly in the Palatine and Buffalo Grove area was employed at Ampex Corporation. In 1976 he began his private practice as a CPA in which he continued until 2001 when he retired. Although Andrew was a very private person in many ways, he gave many hours of his professional time to a variety of charitable organizations. He also taught college level accounting courses at Triton College. LIFE NOTES From his youth, he was very athletic and competitive. He ran and worked out religiously and played a number of sports including: soccer, tennis, racquet ball, archery, kayaking, bicycling and golfing, just to name a few. In more recent years, however, his passion became ballroom dancing. He took lessons and competed through the US Amateur Ballroom Dancers Association.SURVIVORS He is survived by his mother, Maria Yurksaitis, Willoughby, OHTwo ChildrenDiane and Robert Yurksaitis, both of Chicago, IL andtheir mother, Shirley Junge of Wisconsin.one cousin: Helga ( Keith) Zwickl of Tuscon, AZas well as his special friend Lynn Tuttle of Hanover Park, ILPRECEDED He is preceded in death by his father John Yurksaitis and one brother in his youth.
