AGE Anton J. "Bud" Eder Jr. , age 73, of Sycamore, passed away Sunday evening, February 27, 2005 at Bethany Health Care Center, Sycamore, IL. BORN He was born August 18, 1931 the son of Anton Sr. and Helen (Birkeneder) Eder in Geneva, IL.CHILDHOOD When Bud was still a young man his family moved to Maple Park to a farm on County Line Rd. He finished his schooling at Maple Park High School and graduated with the class of 1949. Following graduation Anton worked at Geneva Kitchens for a time before enlisting in the Army National Guard, in the 129th Infantry, 44th Division, Service Company 1951. He served in the Korean War and was stationed in Germany. Bud was honorably discharged on April 30, 1953 and returned to civilian life and moved with his family to Earlville where his parents ran Eder’s Knotty Pine Tap. MARRIED In 1955, Bud married his highschool sweetheart Barbara Reynolds in Maple Park, IL. They began their new life together in his new hometown of Earlville until 1968 when they moved back to his family’s farm and Bud began working for the DeKalb Post Office. There they raised their family until 1990 when they moved to Sycamore where they have since made their home. Bud retired after 25 years of service in 1992. MEMBERSHIP Bud was a member of the Maple Park American Legion, Post 312, as well as the Sycamore Elks Lodge 1392.LIFE NOTES Bud was a simple man of few words, though he expressed volumes with his quiet laugh and his smile. As a younger man he spent his free time by playing golf, horse shoes, Euchre and Pitch. He also threw darts with Barbara and in recent years was an avid watcher of the History Channel and NASCAR. SURVIVORS He leaves now his loving wife Barbara of Sycamore, Two children, Greg Eder of Sycamore and Karen Eder of Maple Park, IL, One sister, Mary Schmitt of WI, Many nieces and nephews and a family of friends. PRECEDED He joins now his parents, one daughter Gwen, and two sisters, Eleanor Liggett and Helen Mahnke who preceded them in death.

VISITATION Friends may call from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at Conley Funeral Home, 116 W. Pierce St., Elburn, IL. SERVICES A mass to celebrate his life will be held at S.S. Peter & Paul, at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 3, 2005. Fr. Les Echevia will officiate

interment will follow at S.S. Peter & Paul Cemtery.
