NAME: Barbara K. Horna (nee Majerus), age 61, of Elburn, passed away in the early hours of Friday, November 17, 2006 at Rosewood Care Center in St. Charles, IL.BORNShe was born January 25, 1945 the daughter of Richard and Katherine (Zuercher) Majerus in Evanston, IL. EARLY YEARS : Barbara grew up in Edgebrook on the far north side of Chicago and attended local schools. She graduated in 1963 from St. Scholastica High School. Upon graduating she attended a local college and worked for many years as a legal secretary in downtown Chicago. Later in life she worked as a demonstrator for Marshall Fields before retired in 1999. MARRIAGE Barbara was united in marriage to George on April 12, 1986. They met after Barb answered a "Lonely Hearts" personal he posted in the Chicago Sun Times. They have resided in Elburn for the past 20 years. MEMBERSHIPS Barbara was a faithful member of St. Gall Catholic Church in Elburn as well as their program, Marriage Encounter.LIFE NOTES Barbara was an artist who had a passion for porcelain doll creations which helped decorate her house and make it a home. She was a loving person who always cared for the needs of her family, no matter the day or the hour, and her hospitality and warmth enveloped all who came in the door. Barbara had a deep devotion to her faith which gave her strength and comfort through the years. She and George traveled extensively throughout the U.S. while following George’s passion for railroad photography. They looked forward to their two trips every year as well as countless "long weekends" to parts unknown stopping along the way to indulge in Barbara’s love of restaurants. SURVIVORS She now leaves her husband George of Elburn, Six siblings:Richard Jr. Majerus of Mt. Prospect, IL,Kathy (Keith) Ippoliti of Silver Lake, WI, Paul (Oxana) Majerus of Wood Dale, IL, Bonnie (Al) Majerus-Fliss of St. Charles, IL, Clement Majerus formerly of Arlington Heights, IL, andJames (Patrice) Majerus of Arlington Heights, IL;One niece, Beth (Michael) Hand of Michigan;Five nephews:Justin and Kyle Ippoliti, Alexander and Andrew Fliss, and Thomas Majerus;Brian Glickley of Lisle, IL and Kevin Glickley of Lake Villa And a famiAnd a family of friends. PRECEDED She now joins her parents who preceded her in death.MEMORIAL A memorial has been established in her name to benefit the Fox Valley Hospice as well as St. Gall Parish Building Fund. VISITATION Friends may call on Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at Conley Funeral Home, 116 W. Pierce St. Elburn, from 4-9 p.m. with a Rosary to be said at 4:30 p.m. FUNERAL A mass to celebrate her life will be held Wednesday, November 22nd at 11 a.m. at St. Gall Catholic Church, Elburn. Fr. Karl Ganss, pastor of the church, will officiate.

Interment will follow Annunciation Cemetery, Aurora.
