BESSE MACHO, age 97 of St. Charles, IL, passed away Friday evening, February 23, 2007 at Bethany Healthcare, DeKalb, IL. BORN / EARLY YEARSShe was born April 27, 1909, the daughter of John and Mary (Miller) Lindhorst in Ramsey, IL. EDUCATIONBesse grew up on the family farm in Herrick, IL and attended local schools. She graduated from Ramsey High School. MARRIAGE & FAMILYWithin a few years of graduating and in between helping out on the farm, she met and married John Macho on November 7, 1931 in Crown Point, IN. They settled in St. Charles, IL and continued to make it their home for the next 64 years. In September of 1995 John passed away from a sudden heart attack. A strong spirit and loving family stood by Besse until her deteriorated health forced her to move to Bethany Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in DeKalb. LIFE NOTES Besse’s steel determination to stay independent until the end was balanced by her gentle, patient and forgiving nature. She loved being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and made her house a home to several generations. Besse loved to bowl, play cards with friends, go fishing and travel when she could. Although she never had a "9 to 5" job, she worked hard volunteering for the women’s organization at the Lutheran church in St. Charles as well as Community Hospital, Geneva, Prime-Timers at St. Patrick’s Catholic church and the Mother’s Club of St. Charles. SURVIVORS She now leaves two daughters:Kay (Gordon) Johnson of Elburn, IL and Nancy (Paul) Henricksen of Lindenhurst, ILSix grandchildren:Ronald (Cynthia) Johnson of Dallas, TX,Mary Ann (Mike) Weber of Toronto, Ontario, Ken (Jan) Johnson of Danville, CA, Robert (Kelsey) Johnson of Elburn, IL, Jill (Mark) Menninger of Antioch, IL and Lisa (Jim) Weber of Loyal, WI;Thirteen great-grandchildren:Robert, Stephen,Lauren, Elise, Torrie, Spenser, Haley, Conor,Brittany, Collin,Brent, Karlye and Jared;Many nieces and nephews and a family of friends. PRECEDED She now joins her parents, husband John, one son in infancy, one grandson Stephen and one sister Marie L. Beatty who preceded her in death.

VISITATION / FUNERAL Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Monday, March 5th, at Fisherman’s Inn, corner of Rt. 47 and Main Street Rd., Kaneville, with a memorial service to begin at 12 p.m. Rev. Katherine Lawes, will officiate.
