NAME BRENDA KAY SOUDERS, nee WILSON, formerly Brenda Crissip, age 52, of Kaneville, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, April 23, 2011.BORN: She was born January 12, 1959 in Harvey, IL, the daughter of Wiley and Charleene (Ziegler) Wilson. EARLY YEARS:Brenda grew up in South Holland for a time but spent most of her growing up years in Kaneville where she attended local schools. She graduated from Kaneland High School in 1977. MARRIAGE: Brenda was lucky in love three times in her life. She was united in a marriage to Richard Allen Crissip Sr. on July 9, 1977 at the Kaneville United Methodist Church. Later she married Richard Allen Souders on September 12, 1998, but most in recent years her heart belonged to Dan Satterfield. RESIDENTIAL HISTORY: Brenda lived in Kaneville where she began raising a family of three children. They welcomed Kristina Marie on October 4, 1978, Michelle Lynn on March 21, 1981 and Richard Allen Jr. on February 23, 1986. Two months later the family moved to Leland, IL. Brenda returned to her roots in Kaneville in 1996. OCCUPATION / WORK HISTORY:Brenda spent many years not only working but sharing a part of herself with everyone she met. While at what is now the Countryside Care Center, a nursing home in Aurora, Brenda became friends with many of the residents. She also worked at Kane County Bank. Brenda had a heart for business and opened her own craft and video stores in Kaneville. She was most proud of being a property manager, taking care of several apartments near the center of Kaneville. LIFE NOTES: Brenda had a good sense of humor, a vibrant smile and a sympathetic ear. Her work ethic was second to none and she never seemed to stop moving. Her principles were strong and true and sometimes her stubborn streak shined bright but in the end she always cared more for others than herself. She loved nature and had a passion for gardening– but only flowers, never vegetables. Brenda shared her heart with animals of every kind, but had a special place for her dog Luke, her cats Loner, Tigger and Oscar and the various fish in her aquarium. Brenda enjoyed trips with her mom to Hollywood Casino trying her luck at the slot machines. In recent years Brenda took several trips with her mom to Wyoming to see her sister and Las Vegas to take in a show and have a little fun. When she did stop working, she spent many hours with her "Friday Night Coffee Club", Jenny Adamson, her daughter Michelle and Lois "Lolo" Hund. She also loved the band Picture This, later named Snapshot, and followed them wherever they played locally. Brenda loved to watch movies, especially scary ones, but enjoyed them most often in the comfort of her own home. When the children were young she used her loving hands to make costumes for special events and holidays for which she almost always played the part of hostess. Above all, Brenda had a caring heart and was a loving mother and grandmother. She will be missed dearly and never forgotten.SURVIVORS: She is survived by her mother Charleene (Verne) Adamson of Leland, IL, Three children:Kristy (Tim) McNally and their children, Timothy, Brennen, and Jakob, all of Paw Paw, IL,Michelle (Rob Piontek) Crissip of Kaneville, IL and Ricky (Shannan) Crissip of Kaneville, IL;One brother, David (Diane) Wilson of Sandwich, IL;Two half-sisters, Jane Wilson of FL and Patricia (Tim) Leair of WY;One half-brother, Steven (Ginnie) Wilson of WI, Several nieces and nephews, the Adamson family to whom she was very close, including Bill, Debbie and Jenny; Her boyfriend, Dan Satterfield of Batavia, IL;Former husbands Richard (Rhonda) Crissip of Leland, IL and Rich Souders of Sandwich, IL and a family of friends near and wide.
