DEBBIE MAE MOFFITTAge 82 of Kaneville, IL, passed away peacefully at her home December 24, 2007.Surrounded by her loving family, together, as they were every Christmas Eve, Debbie went "home" for Christmas to her beloved Everett. BORN / EARLY YEARSShe was born August 28, 1925 in Bradford, Illinois the daughter of Allen and Maud (Taylor) Moffitt. She grew up in Bradford where she graduated from high school and on May 18, 1947, was united in marriage to Everett Moffitt in Kaneville, IL. Moving to their present home in 1963, they lived their entire lives in Kaneville where Everett passed away in 2001. Debbie was a small but strong willed woman whose life was devoted to family, faith and community. She loved gardening and cooking, sewing and crocheting and for over forty-five years, played cards with the same circle of friends. As the years passed, Debbie fought off a plethora of physical ailments from congestive heart failure to advanced osteoporosis and arthritis, things that would have depressed a lesser soul – but not Debbie. With typical "country courage" she would quip – "You gotta be tougher than hog snout".Part of her "toughness" was a well grounded faith that taught her not only to count her blessings, but to be one as well. Thoughtful caring and good-natured fun were as natural as breathing to Debbie and she spent her life sharing the ups and downs of others.
