Debra “Debbie” Eck, age 63, of Maple Park, IL, passed away peacefully, Thursday, September 26, 2019, and now watches over her loving family in celestial light.
Debbie was born July 6, 1956 in Chicago and attended local schools.
Not only did she receive her diploma from Hubbard High School, but she gave away her heart to Marty there as well.
The two high school sweethearts were united in marriage in 1974. They were blessed with a son Michael, and eventually two grandsons as well.
Debbie embodied the term “home maker” in all of its wonderful facets. No one cared for her family more and attended faithfully and happily to all their needs.
She was the heart and soul of the family and was a decorator extraordinaire. Her home was dressed to perfection for every season. Their farm was her kingdom, and home to countless memories. Debbie was a “World Class Mom”, doting endlessly on both Michael and Marty (not to mention her horses) in equal measure. She was more than just a mom and grandmother, she was a friend and confidant who was always there for whatever they needed, and whenever they needed it. She lived in a home built by hand to fill with the laughter that only comes with the kind of hard work that makes a house a home. Debbie had a generous heart and a tenacious spirit that always cared for others before herself. The thousands of birthday cards she sent to family and friends are a testament to the special touch and attention to detail that made her a friend for life. All these traits were passed down along with freely given advice, to her son Michael, who learned how to love and raise a family the “right way”. Marty and Debbie’s visits to see Michael, his wife Lauren, and her beautiful grandsons in Arizona were the highlights of the year. Though trials assailed her, Debbie never lost her determination, showing that her inner strength was strong as oak and was the bedrock of her family. Gone but never forgotten, Debbie, now a true angel in both word and deed, continues to look over her family from Heaven above. .
She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Marty Eck; one son Michael (Lauren) Eck and their two grandsons: Easton and Porter; a number of extended family and a community of friends who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her mother; one brother William “Billy” Zelensky and a sister Donna Goc.
