DORIS M. LUKERage 90 of Hinckley, IL, passed away unexpectedly, late Friday afternoon, May 25, 2007 at Loyola University Medical Center due to heart complications. BORN / EARLY YEARSShe was born March 3, 1917 in Bradley Beach, NJ, the daughter of Joseph and Clara (Hudson) Stines."Dot" grew up in Bradley Beach and was later married to LeRay Luker. They continued in the area, and were blessed with two sons, Lee and David. They eventually retired in Wall Twp. where LeRay passed away in 1974. In 1982, Doris moved to Hinckley, IL, near her sons. OCCUPATION / WORK HISTORY A loving wife and homemaker, "Dot" enjoyed crocheting and knitting, creating beautiful things to adorn her home and comfort her family. Some of her intricate hand-work will continue to weave her memory through their lives for generations to come. "Dot" had a quick wit and a great sense of humor that entertained family and friends especially over a game of Rummy, Yahtzee or Canasta. MEMBERSHIPSThrough the Hinckley years, she became a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hinckley. SURVIVORS She is survived by two sons:Lee (Sharon) Luker of Hinckley, IL andDavid (Ann) Luker of Sugar Grove, IL;Four grandchildren: (Lee & Sharon’s)Paul Luker of Banner Elk, North Carolina and Seth (Alicia) Luker of Hinckley, IL ;(David & Ann’s)Jarrod of Yorkville, IL andLindsay of Chicago, IL;One great grandson, (Seth & Alicia’s son), Jacob Luker.PRECEDED She is preceded in death by her husband and parents, one brother, Elmer andone grandson, Chris Luker (Lee & Sharon’s son).VISITATION / FUNERALVisitation will be held Wednesday, May 30, 2007, from 4-7pm with evening funeral services to follow at 7:30 pm at Conley Funeral Home, 116 W. Pierce St., Elburn. The Rev. Michael Mann, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, Hinckley, IL, will officiate. Following cremation, interment will conclude at Atlantic View Cemetery, Manasquan, NJ. MEMORIAL In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name to benefit the church building funds at Hinckley First United Methodist Church and the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church. Memorials checks may be made to either or both churches and mailed in care of P.O. Box 66, Elburn, IL 60119.
