Dorothy M. Garrison, age 79, of St. Charles (Lily Lake) Illinois, passed away August 30, 2005.She was born on December 13, 1925, in Milan, Missouri, the daughter of William and May (Webb) Kelsall. She attended Milan Grammar School and went to high school in Orion, Illinois.Dorothy was united in marriage to Robert Garrison on April 26, 1944, in Boise, Idaho. Robert was a pilot in the United States Air Force, so they lived in Japan for the first years of their marriage. Dorothy attended the University of Tokyo in Japan. When they returned to the U.S., Dorothy and Bob lived in Rantoul for a time until he was transferred once again, this time to O’Hare Field in Chicago, IL. They made their home in Des Plaines until his untimely passing in March of 1955.Dorothy was a stay at home mom, carrying for her children, Larry and Robin, during the first years of their marriage. After Bob’s death, she put her education to work and became a licensed interior designer. She worked at her career for thirty-five years, twenty-four of them at Marshall Fields.She was a member of the Lily Lake Congregational Church in Lily Lake where she made some wonderful friends and served as a Sunday School teacher for some years.Dorothy was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was an avid gardener and had a love for painting oil paintings and doing crosstitch. She enjoyed volunteering her time at the Lily Lake Elementary School and as a tour guide at the Fabyan Museum in Geneva.She is survived by her daughter, Robin (Keith) Reed of St. Charles (Lily Lake); her son, Larry (Carolyn) Garrison of San Pedro, CA; four sisters: Sally Brewer of Orion, IL, Betty (Gerald) Kessel, Jane (Everett) Swanson, and Lois Rink, all of Geneseo, IL; eight grandchildren: Kyle, Taylor, Ashley, Hillary, and Allyson Reed and Brianne, Kerry and Andrew Garrison, as well as many nieces and nephews and a family of friends.She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents, William and May Kelsall; two brothers, Paul and Ben and two brothers-in-law, Alan Rink and Robert Brewer.

A memorial service to celebrate Dorothy’s life will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday afternoon, September 11, 2005, at the Congregational Church of Lily Lake, Rte. 47 & Empire Rd., Lily Lake. The Rev. Peter Akemann will officiate
