DRUSILLA "Dru" E. SANBERG age 62 of Batavia, passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago, IL.She was born August 11, 1944 in Aurora, IL, the daughter of Charles U. and Daphne (Shrader) Edwards Dru graduated from Kaneland High School with the class of 1962, and earned her nursing certificate from the St. Joseph School of Nursing, Aurora. She worked for Dr. Mary McKenzie as office nurse for seventeen years until 1989, when she became Director of Corporate Accounts at Pegasus Airwave. In 1996, she took a new position as Senior Contract Negotiator for Fremont Health Insurance.Dru married, Donald B. Sanberg on October 17, 1975. They made their home in Geneva until 1980 when they moved to Batavia. She was a member of the Kaneville United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir for many years and served as director for eleven years. She battled cancer in recent years and in 1998 was the highest individual fund raiser for the American Cancer Society’s Fox Valley Relay for Life. She was a volunteer for Fox Valley Hospice as well.Regardless of her health or surrounding conditions, Dru always had a smile and was ready to reach out. Following the death of her husband, Don in 2002, Dru’s own struggle with illness progressed, but with the help of her loving family, friends and neighbors, she remained in her own home. She is survived by her mother, Daphne Edwards; two nieces, Megan (Glen) Masters ,and Marcia Sweigert (Ray) Danley; two nephews: James (Ella) Sweigert andJonathan Edwards;Four great nieces and nephews:Molly and Abby MastersMadelyn and Annalise DanleyTwo-step daughters:Lynn Chase andCheri (Terry) OlsonFour step grandchildrenMary Chase (Tim) Doll, Claire Chase,Erika (Eric) Osterman and Renee Olson;Two sisters-in-law,Diane Edwards andEleanor (Ray) Lish;One brother-in-lawTom (Lora) Sanberg.She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Edwards, one brother, Charles EdwardsHer sister and brother-in-law: Dianne and James Sweigert.Visitation will be held Thursday, March 8, 4pm – 7pm at the Kaneville United Methodist Church.
