Esther W. Leverenz, age 96 of Elgin, died Tuesday December 3, 2013 at The Vines at Countryside in Elgin.She was born July 26, 1917 in Morris, Minnesota, the daughter of Jacob F. Stettner and Wilhelmina Spiess Stettner. On November 24, 1937she married John Leverenz in Elgin. Esther worked at the Ackmann Department Store for twentyseven years where she was the buyer and manager of the Gift Gallery. She was a former member of the Elgin Baptist Church and the Elmhurst Baptist Church. Through the years Esther especially enjoyed volunteer services. She is survived by one son, John C. (Tina) Leverenzzi of Elgin and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John and three brothers and three sisters. A private burial service will be held at Blackberry Township Cemetery.
