Eugene M Boehne, age 78, of Plato Center, passed away surrounded by the love of his family Tuesday November 19, 2013 at his home from a long battle with Mesothelioma. Eugene was born August 20, 1935 the son of Martin and Esther Boehne in Itasca, IL He graduated from Burlington High School in 1953. On June 14, 1958 Eugene married the love of his life, Lois Tucker. In 1958 shortly after they were married Eugene began his service to his country with the United States Army, where he served the next two years. Eugene was a carpenter by trade and worked most of his career with Wetzel Construction in Elgin. Throughout the years Eugene also worked many side jobs from farming to snow plowing. Eugene was a big sports enthusiast, especially when his grandchildren were involved. He spent countless hours in the shed, constantly working on his lawn mower. A big "breakfast guy" Eugene paid a visit to every restaurant around, whether they just opened their doors or if it was his hundredth visit. SURVIVORS: He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lois Boehne;Three children: Lorry, Jeff, and Randy;Five Grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Samuel, Nicholas, Danielle, and Rachel;His brother Robert (Cathy), and nieces and nephews. PRECEDED:He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Earl. VISITATION / FUNERAL Visitation will be held Sunday November 24, 2013 from 1-3pm at Conley Funeral Home, 116 W. Pierce St., Elburn. A memorial service celebrating his life will begin at 3pm at the funeral home. Curt Berg, of Lord of Life Lutheran Church in La Fox, will officiate.
