NAME Everett F. Souders, age 88, of Kaneville passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at Pine Acres Rehabilitation and Living Center, DeKalb. BORN: He was born December 2, 1919 the son of George and Helen (Cook) Souders in New Ville, PA. Shortly after his birth the family moved to Sugar Grove, IL. EARLY YEARS :Everett attended local schools and graduated from Sugar Grove High School in 1937.OCCUPATION / WORK HISTORY He worked for Burlington Northern in Chicago as clerk until he enlisted into the United States Navy in 1942. Everett proudly served on numerous ships as a radio operator in the European Theater during WWII. MARRIAGE After returning to civilian life in 1945, Everett went back to work at Burlington Northern and found the love of his life at Long’s Barn a year later. Virginia Long captured his heart and after a whirlwind courtship, they were united in marriage in her mother’s home on November 28, 1946.RESIDENTIAL HISTORY: They began their new life in Aurora for a time before settling on her father’s farm in Kaneville. There began a lifelong connection with the land as he tilled the fields and tended the livestock for the next fifty years. MEMBERSHIPS Everett was a proud member of the Elburn American Legion, Post 630, as well as the Aurora Navy League. LIFE NOTES Everett had the "gift of gab" and was always willing to lend an ear to any conversation. This gift brought him friendships from many walks of life and always brought a smile to his face. These and many more memories are the legacy he leaves behind for his friends and family to cherish for years to come.SURVIVORS He now leaves his loving wife Virginia, Three children:Roger (Blanca) Souders of Kaneville, IL Linda (Andy) Stavrou of Geneva, IL and Cindy (Ed) Kleren of North Aurora, IL;Three grandchildren:Rodger Souders,Chad Souders and Neal Kleren and family of friends. PRECEDED He now joins his parents, two brothers, and three sisters who preceded him in death. VISITATION / FUNERAL Friends may call from 4-5:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at Conley Funeral Home, 116 W. Pierce St., Elburn. A service to celebrate his life will follow visitation at 6 p.m. Rev. Jason Turner, pastor of the Kaneville United Methodist Church, will officiate and private family interment will occur at a later date. MEMORIAL A memorial has been established in his name to benefit the American Diabetes Association and the American Heart Association. Checks may be made to the "Everett Souders Memorial" and mailed in care of P.O. Box 66, Elburn, IL 60119. Friends may call from 4-5:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at Conley Funeral Home, 116 W. Pierce St., Elburn. A service to celebrate his life will follow visitation at 6 p.m. Rev. Jason Turner, pastor of the Kaneville United Methodist Church, will officiate.

Private family interment will occur at a later date.
