Harold E. "Bud" Snyder 77, of Kaneville passed from this life to eternal life in the early morning hours of Wednesday March 3, 2010 at Alden Estates of Naperville, in Naperville.BORN: Bud was born in Aurora, Il the son of Bertha "Betty" (Carlson) and Earl C. Snyder.EARLY YEARS :He graduated from West Aurora High School in 1950. MILITARY: Bud served his country in the U.S. Navy. MARRIAGE RESIDENTIAL HISTORY: Bud married Barbara Phelps on September 1, 1956 in Kaneville. OCCUPATION / WORK HISTORY Bud and Barbara lived in Aurora and later Kaneville sharing almost fifty years as husband and wife and thirty-four years as business partners in "Steamgard Carpet Cleaners", their family business. It began as an extension of Bud’s dry cleaning business, "Spotsgard". Barbara passed away in 2006. Bud continued to live in Kaneville until recent months when declining health brought him into the care of several nursing facilities.SURVIVORS He now leaves three children:Brent (Sara) Snyder of Montgomery, ILBrian (Tammy) Snyder of Oswego, IL andAmy (Andy) Weiland of Montgomery, IL;Five Grandchildren:Hannah, Luke, Jamie, Joe and Julian;Three siblings:Marilyn (Tom) Stephens of DeKalb, IL, Chuck (Elaine) Snyder of Sacramento, CA andMarge Thalman of Sacramento, CA;Many nieces, nephews and a family of friends. PRECEDED He now joins his parents and wife Barbara who preceded him in death. VISITATION / FUNERAL Visitation will be from 3-6:30 p.m. with a memorial service to celebrate his life to follow at 7 p.m., Monday, March 8, 2010 at Kaneville United Methodist Church, Kaneville, IL. Rev. Jason Turner, pastor of the church will officiate and interment will follow Tuesday, March 9 at 11 a.m. at Kaneville Cememtery, Kaneville. MEMORIAL A memorial has been established in his name to benefit Kaneville United Methodist Church. Checks may be made to the "Bud Snyder Memorial’ and mailed in care of P.O. Box 66, Elburn, IL 60119.
