Hazel Justice, age 90, of Elburn, formerly of Woodstock, IL passed awayMonday morning, January 26, 2004 at Delnor Community Hospital, Geneva, after several months of declining health.BORNShe was born, March 24, 1913, one of ten children born to Daniel and Blanche (Tidmarsh) Sheehan. The family made their home in the Antioch-Lake Villa area where Hazel grew up and attended local schools. MARRIEDIn the mid thirties, she was united in marriage to Milo John Justice in Antioch, IL. John was employed in highway construction for many years, which took them all over the state of Illinois. In the early forties, they moved to Woodstock, IL, where they made their home until 1989 when John passed away. The following year, Hazel sold the family farm and moved to Elburn to make her home near her son, John. Hazel continued to live independently until the fall of 2000 when she moved to the Rosewood Care Center, St. Charles, IL MEMBERSHIPShe was active in the United Methodist Church, Woodstock for many years and volunteered for many school activities when the children were young. She also gave many hours to the women’s VFW Auxiliary in Lake Villa and also the Grange Association whenever there was a dinner to serve. In later years she was also active in the Women’s Guild at the Community Congregational Church, Elburn. Hazel loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and simply enjoyed the company of others. She was a first-rate story teller and fond of recalling the life and times of her family and community. She was strong willed and independent in her living yet gracious and generous in giving of herself to family and friends. Her coffee pot was always on and both her hands and heart were eager to serve anyone who came to her door.SURVIVORSShe is survived by one son, John C. (Carolyn) Justice of Elburnsix grandchildren:Adeel (Philip) Nelson of Clearwater, FL, Julie Justice of North Aurora, IL, Michael Justice of Yorkville, IL,Kathleen Justice of Columbia, MO, Jill (Larry) Sanders of Yorkville, IL,Susan (Julian) Rojas of Yorkville, five great grandchildren:Felicia, P.J. and Kendall Nelson,Rebecca and Alex Rojas;as well as many nieces and nephews. PRECEDEDThe last of her generation, she joins now her parents, her husband, one daughter, Joan Khaja and nine siblings: Howard, Elmer, Warren "Doc", Charles "Bud", Joe, Bob, Arline, Stella and one brother in infancy, who preceded her in death. Her funeral service will be held at Conley Funeral Home, Friday, January 30, 2004 at 10:30am. The Rev. Dr. Barry Kolb, pastor of the Lord of Life Lutheran Church, LaFox, IL, will officiate

Interment will follow at McHenry County Memorial Park, Woodstock, IL at 2pm.
