NAME Henry C. Goeske, age 83, of Elgin, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2006, at Sherman Hospital, Elgin. BORN: He was born January 8, 1923, the son of Henry and Clara (Muench) Goeske. EARLY YEARS :Henry grew up in Chicago and attended local schools, but worked through the Depression to help support his family. Later the family moved to Franklin Park, IL until his enlistment in the United States Navy in 1943. Following his honorable discharge in 1946, Henry returned to civilian life and attended Washburn Trade School in Chicago and became a carpenter. Following graduation, he entered the union and began working the carpentry trade for the next 35 years. MARRIAGE Henry was united in marriage to Shirley Patzer for a time and they made their home in Franklin Park before settling in Rolling Meadows in 1960. In 2003, Henry moved to his present home at Countryside Manor, Elgin. MEMBERSHIPS Henry was a member of the carpenters union and the Rolling Meadows Baptist Church for many years.LIFE NOTES Through he and Shirley divorced when the children were small, Henry continued to be devoted to his sons and was an avid, supportive, and "vocal" fan at many baseball games.SURVIVORS He leaves now his three sons:Craig (Bonnie) Goeske of St. Charles, IL, Brian (Ann) Goeske of Rolling Meadows, IL and Keith (Chris) Goeske of Elgin, IL;Eight grandchildren:Todd Goeske of St. Charles, IL, Kellie Goeske of Chicago, IL, Lindsay Goeske of St. Charles, David Goeske of Rolling Meadows, Adam Goeske of Elgin, IL, Eric Goeske of Elgin, IL,Shayna (Jeff) Kuper of Silver Lake, WI and Raegan Goeske of Silver Lake, WI;One daughter-in-law, Beverly Goeske (wife of the late Larry Goeske) of Silver Lake, WI, and a family of friends. PRECEDED He now joins his parents, one brother Robert, his son Larry and his former wife Shirley who preceded him in death. VISITATION / FUNERAL Friends may call from 10-11 a.m., Monday, February 27, 2006 at the Rolling Meadows Baptist Church, 2401 Kirchoff Rd., Rolling Meadows, with a service to follow at 11 a.m. Private family interment will follow at Acacia Park Cemetery, Harwood Heights, IL.
