NAME James "Jim" R. Schoo, age 75, of Hinckley, passed away in the early morning hours of Friday, October 24, 2008, at Bethany Healthcare Center, DeKalb, IL.BORN: He was born May 29, 1933 the son of Albert P. and Bernice (Fagen) Schoo in Sandwich, IL. EARLY YEARS :Jim grew up in DeKalb and attended local schools. He graduated with the class of 1951. MILITARY: Two years later he entered the United States Air Force and served his country faithfully until his honorable discharge.MARRIAGE Three years after returning to civilian life he was united in marriage to Margaret Rose Maercker in November of 1956. They began their new life together in DeKalb until they moved to their present home in Hinckley in 1965. OCCUPATION / WORK HISTORY Jim had a strong work ethic and was an employee for eight years at G.E. before tending bar for 13 years and was a general laborer for seven. MEMBERSHIPS Jim was a member of the VFW, American Legion and the Illinois Police Association. He also was confirmed and attended The Church of St. Mary in DeKalb. LIFE NOTES Jim’s family always held a very special place in his heart and loved to spend time with them whenever he could. In between times, he loved to sit down with a good novel or sit back and relax to his favorite music. SURVIVORS He now leaves four children:Ron (Barb) Schoo and their children, Molly(Witt) Jumper of Austin, TexasBen,Andrew, Anna and Elliot of New-Ulm, MN, Teri (Steve) Zbinden and their children:Nicole,( TJ) Lawhon of RockfordSarah ( Chris) Tossing their children Logan, Andrew of Massachusetts, Steven of DeKalb, IL, Jay (Patti) Schoo and their children:Lyndsee, her children Alexander, Charlee David and Emily of Cortland, IL and Rodger (Stacy) Schoo and their children:Carmen and Nora of DeKalb, IL;And his siblings Bill (Dorothy) Schoo, Don (Lorraine) Schoo, and Joanne (Elmer) Irving and many nephews and nieces. PRECEDED He now joins his parents and wife Margaret along with siblings Dorothy, Gene and Nancy .

VISITATION / FUNERAL Visitation will be from 4pm-6:30pm with a 7pm Memorial Service, at Conley Funeral Home 116 W. Pierce St., Elburn, IL, on Monday October 27, 2008. Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Joliet, IL, on Wednesday, October 29, 2008.
