L. JANE CYKO, age 64, of Elburn, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 09, 2010, following a four and a half year battle with cancer. BORN: She was born November 17, 1945 in St. Charles, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Reed.EARLY YEARS:Jane grew up in Lily Lake and attended local schools. In the mid 1950’s the family moved to rural ST. Charles. She graduated from St. Charles High School in 1963.RESIDENTIAL HISTORY: MARRIAGE: Jane loved to square dance and that passion created another when she met her husband Paul on the dance floor. They were married on July 31, 1982. Two years later they moved to their present home in Elburn. OCCUPATION / WORK HISTORY:Jane worked for seventeen years as a secretary for Diamond International in St. Charles, followed by several restaurant and retail establishments. . MEMBERSHIPS: Jane grew up attending Grace Lutheran Church in Lily Lake but later in life she worshiped and was married in Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She also enjoyed being a member of the Sycamore Steam Club and the International Harvester Collectors. LIFE NOTES: Jane and Paul loved to attend tractor shows and swap meets, across the country making memories with every mile. She also loved to bake. Cookies and cakes were always fresh but never lasted long. She tried to never miss a ball game on T.V. especially if the Chicago Cubs were playing. Jane’s hands were an extension of her heart, and were always busy knitting hats for the church to benefit the missions. Though her heart was tender and loving, her spirit was strong and unyielding. Most people would have wilted under the intense cancer treatments, some never surviving, but Jane persevered and surpassed everyone’s expectations—every one that didn’t know Jane, that is. In the end, it was her body that failed her, not her spirit, and she now rests in the arms of her Savior. SURVIVORS: She is survived by her loving husband, Paul, Her mother Anna June Reed of St. Charles, IL;Many aunts, uncles, cousins and a family of friends. PRECEDED:She is preceded in death by her father George Reed. VISITATION / FUNERAL Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Friday, November 12, 2010, at Conley Funeral Home, 116 W. Pierce St., Elburn, IL 60119. A funeral to celebrate her life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 13, at Grace Lutheran Church, Lily Lake, with a time of visitation to precede the service from 9:30-10:15 a.m. Rev. Ernst Rex, pastor of the church, will officiate and interment will follow at Lily Lake Cemetery in Lily Lake, IL. MEMORIAL In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name to benefit her favorite charities. Checks may be made to the "Jane Cyko Memorial" and mailed in care of P.O.
