Jessica L. Lytle
Born January 10, 1990 – Returned to Heaven August 30, 2016

Jessica Lytle passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 26 surrounded by her family who loved her deeply. Her short life was met with many challenges — all of which she faced with courage and dignity. Jessica was more than a daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, patient and friend — she was a teacher. She taught how to love unconditionally, how to face any obstacle with strength and a smile, and she taught us how to forgive.
Jessica impacted numerous lives in a very positive way and she will be greatly missed by many but none more than her grandparents (Jim & Judy Lytle) who discovered their life’s purpose when they accepted the responsibility of her care 26 years ago.
The proverb “it takes a village” is the belief that it takes an entire community to raise a child, and that a child has the best opportunity to become a healthy adult if the entire community takes an active role in contributing to the care and rearing of the child. Jessica’s life was a perfect example of this — from her aunts and uncles, her amazing nursing team, the Easter Seals DuPage therapists, the Marklund at Mill Creek day program staff along with her entire medical team — Jessica accomplished amazing things and made the world a better place with her smile and the twinkle in her eyes.
Those closest to Jessica are wondering what their purpose will be now; we have no idea how to answer that except to try to find happiness as Jessica did and see the positives in the world, smile when it hurts, be in awe at the beauty in a sunrise and thank the Lord for the sunset, catch snowflakes on your eye lashes and tongue, enjoy a good thunderstorm, always give smooches, and love unconditionally.
