OAN CHANDLERAge 71 of Bowling Green, MO, formerly of Kaneville, IL, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005 at her home. BORN / EARLY YEARSShe was born March 23, 1934 in Elmhurst, IL the daughter of Walter & Lorna (Hagengose) Gauger. She grew up in the Warrenville & Oswego area, and attended local schools there.MARRIAGE / FAMILY On August 17, 1950, she was united in marriage to Henry Neal "Bill" Chandler in Pocahontas, Arkansas. They made their home there for a time before settling in Kaneville where they raised their family. Joan and Bill also raised ducks, geese and chickens, and one ornery Turkey, Bill’s pet. Through the years, Joan worked at Anchor Brush Co., Montgomery, Haberlies Mfg. Company and Daco Mfg., Aurora.LIFE NOTES Joan was also the family caregiver. When illness plagued her aging parents and relatives, Joan always had a place for them in her heart and in her home. Her source of strength was her Bible and she passed that strength on to her children, reading Bible Stories from children’s books and seeing to it that they got to Sunday School as often as possible. Though never a church member herself, Joan drew peace and renewal, from nature. Visits to Spring Lake would find her watching the birds and the deer and fishing with Bill. When they retired to Curyville, MO, those times became all the more precious and plentiful. SURVIVORS She is survived by four children: Ralph (Joy) Chandler of Plano, IL;Cynthia "Cindy" (Rick) Flanders, of Elburn, IL;Lorna Forsell of Fairplay, CO andPeggy (Steve) Forsell of Earlville, IL12 Grandchildren: (Ralph’s): Buffy, Jessica and Ralph Jr.;(Cindy’s): Jason, Joshua Jesse, Joe;(Lorna’s) : Jennifer and Andrew and (Peggy’s): Becky, Stacy, Stephen; And several great grandchildren. Four Siblings: Irma Kelly of Lockport, ILBud (Madeline) Mead, Yorkville, IL;Lorna (Floyd) Wilson of Oklahoma;Robert (Judy) Mead of Oswego, ILPRECEDED She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bill (1998), and two brothers, Rwilfred & Wesley.MEMORIAL A memorial has been established in Joan’s name. Visitation and funeral services will be held, Wednesday, January 3, 2005 at Conley Funeral Home, 116 W. Pierce St., Elburn. Visitation will be from 5 pm to 7:30 pm with evening funeral services at 7:30 pm. The Rev. Steve Good, pastor of the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church will officiate.

Committal services will conclude Thursday morning at 11am at Gardner Cemetery, Maple Park, IL.
