John "Jack" Kleinow, 91, of St. Charles passed away suddenly at Glen Oaks Hospital on Tuesday, December 16, 2014. Jack was a proud veteran of the United States Army, valiantly serving his country during WWII. Jack fought in two major battles in Europe, and he survived as a P.O.W. Jack was a collector of antique cars, he relished his time spent at his summer home at Gall Lake, MI, but most of all he loved his family. He is gone from this Earth but he will never be forgotten.Jack is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joanne, his 4 children Jack, Cheri (Richard) Geigert, Bob and James (Barb). 7 grandchildren, Jacklyn(Robert) Gallegos, Jennifer, Jamie, and Janell Kleinow,Anna Mae Kleinow, Jodie and Tom Geigert and a great-grandson Aidyn Kleinow. A sister Bette Jordan. Jack is preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Eva Kleinow, his brother Bob and sister Violet. A private family service and burial will be held Thursday, December 18, 2014.In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Jack’s name to benefit the Salvation Army.
