John Sajdak

John Henry Sajdak, of Elgin, IL, passed away unexpectedly, October 1, 2014. Gone too soon, he leaves a legacy of memories for his family and friends to cherish. He was born February 7, 1964, in Chicago, IL the son of Henry and Dolores (Wasilewicz) Sajdak. John grew up in Des Plaines, IL and attended local schools. He graduated from Main West High School with the class of 1982. He furthered his education by attending University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana, where he received a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Finance. On June 21, 1997, John married Peggy U\\\’Ren which proved to be the beginning of a loving 17 year union.John was a Chartered Financial Analyst and Senior Portfolio Manager at Mainstreet Advisors in Chicago. He was a faithful member of the St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Elgin, IL, as well as a member of MENSA. Not only was John gifted with intelligence, he was also very good with his hands. He was an all-around Mr. Fix It and could be found on any given day working on one project or another. John loved to work in his yard and enjoy the sunshine, but the sun was always the brightest when he made summer weekend trips to the family cottage in Antioch, IL, where his handyman skills were also put to the test. Nothing made John happier than when he was surrounded by his wife and children. His love for them was boundless and their love for him was equally immeasurable. The void he leaves in his absence will have to be filled with the countless memories he made with those he knew and loved. The loss felt by his family is almost too much to bear but for the fact that they can take solace that he is now at peace with God and watching over them. He is survived by loving wife Peggy Sajdak;Three children: Adam, Nathan and Gracie Sajdak;His mother, Dolores Sajdak;One sister, Teresa Sajdak;A brother, Chuck (Nancy) Sajdak;Mother and father-in-law, William and Lori U’Ren;Brother-in-law, Lance (Mary) U’Ren;His Godmother, Geraldine Lustro;One cousin, Barbara Lustro and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Henry Sajdak. Visitation will be from 9-12 p.m., with a funeral service to follow at 12 p.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Elgin, IL. Private family interment will follow cremation at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in John’s name.
