Katherine Lee Maxstadt, age 62, of Bloomingdale, IL, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior, Monday, June 29, 2015.
She was born December 4, 1952, in Sycamore, IL to parents Leo and Naomi Maxstadt.
She grew up in the Virgil and Lily Lake area, and attended local schools. Katherine graduated from Saint Charles High School in 1971.
Following graduation Kathy worked at various factories for several years before working as a Certified Nurses Assistant at West Chicago Terrace as well as in Home Health Care at Carlton Healthcare in Geneva. Kathy took early retirement in 1995.
With more time to herself, Kathy concentrated on the “finer things in life”, like reading romance novels, taking long walks, making crafts and honing her already sharp skills playing Rummy 500. She was a prolific writer of poems and has been published numerous times in different books and calendars. Kathy had a heart of gold and never left the house without a smile on her face. She gave generously of her heart and time to several organizations, making new friends every step of the way. A friendship with Kathy was one for life. She faithfully kept in touch with everyone by any means necessary. Kathy wrote letters, emails, made phone calls and posts on Facebook so that no matter who you were, you could feel special. You would almost think she had no challenges at all but Kathy’s inner strength was built climbing many mountains in her life, conquering each and every one. Kathy was extremely intelligent person who had a strong personality and an independent spirit. She was organized and had a bedrock of faith for her foundation. Every decisions that was worth making, was worth making in stone and without apology. Kathy’s son Jason was the most important thing in the world and there was nothing she wouldn’t do for him. After a life filled with challenges, it was a comfort that Kathy’s departure from this world was one of gentle ascension.
She is survived by her son Jason A. Wold;
