Date of Death

Mar 28,2017

Lennea “Na” Kay Meyer, age 69, of Yorkville, formerly of Elgin and Pingree Grove, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at her home. Now free of the pains that chained her physical body, her spirit is free to live in heaven.
She was born on January 11, 1948 in Elgin, Illinois to proud parents, Harry E. and Delores C. (Fillmore) Cooper.
Lennea grew up in Elgin and attended locals schools. She graduated with the class of 1966 from Larkin High School. Following graduation, she worked for Motorola for over 30 years, both locally and also when the business moved to Schaumburg, Illinois.
Lennea was united in marriage to Emil “Sonny” Meyer on June 14, 1975. They began their new life together in Pingree Grove making memories while living on the farm. Later they moved to West Dundee before Sonny passed away in 2000. Lennea moved in with her mother for a short time before living with her sister in Yorkville since 2002.
She was baptized in 1950 and confirmed in 1962 through Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin.
Na had a song in heart and always found a beat to which she could dance, though mostly in her younger years. If she couldn’t find a willing partner, she improvised with a refrigerator door. She may have wasted some electricity but the door never stepped on her toes. She also had a mind for card playing and filled the role of “shark” every time the cards were dealt, especially in Gin and 500 Rummy. She was also an avid Chicago Bears Fan. She and Sonny were fans of country music, especially of Elvis Presley, so their trips to the Grand Ole Opry and Graceland were dear to her heart. Na also loved to collect Hummels and Lenox which graced several shelves and display cases throughout their home. Antiques also found a place in her life as she and Sonny found diamonds in the rough while going to Flea Markets, Auctions and Garage Sales, basically anywhere that held the promise of a treasure. Though her time with Sonny was cut short, they were the best of times in her life. She is now free to dance the night away in his celestial arms and reunite with her two daughters, that never lingered long in her arms, but lived forever in her heart.
She now leaves her mother, Delores C. Cooper: two step-sons: Steven (Kaye Medina) Meyer and Timothy (Lynn Wessel) Meyer: several grand-children; six siblings: Marcia L. (Ron) Denk, Bradley E. Cooper, Kimberly M. (Eddie) Cooper Pitt, Todd A. Cooper, Kathy (Bill) Bailey and Sandra (Laurence) Lazare; many nieces, nephews, cousins and family of friends.
She now joins her father, Harry, her husband Sonny, her two daughters in infancy, Veronica and Leslie and two brothers in infancy, Curtis Cooper and Kevin Cooper, who preceded her in death.
