A funeral to celebrate her life will follow on Saturday, March 5, 2011, also at the funeral home, at 10 a.m. Rev. Stan Stoval, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Sycamore, will officiate.

Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Sharon, WI.

MARION A. AUBERG, age 89, of DeKalb, formerly of Downers Grove, IL, passed away peacefully, Thursday morning, February 24, 2011 at the DeKalb County Nursing Center, DeKalb, IL. BORN / EARLY YEARSShe was third of five children, born on November 29, 1921 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Charles Wallace and Marion (Newson) Baldridge. MARRIAGE: Marion graduated from Steinmetz High School, in Chicago, where she met her future husband, Donald Auberg. The high school sweethearts were married at Marion’s parents’ home on March 22, 1941 and would enjoy sixty-five years filled with love until his passing in 2006. FAMILY LIFEThe newlyweds moved to California where Don worked for Douglass Air Craft in support of the war. Before long, they moved back to the Midwest and settled in the DesPlaines and Downers Grove areas. Following Don’s retirement in 1982, they traded in their "brick and mortar" home for a "mobile" one, travelling throughout the country making memories with every passing mile. After two years on the road, the decided to return to Illinois and settled in Sycamore, IL. LIFE NOTESMarion worked briefly as an Executive Secretary to the President of the Wood Dale Country Club before changing jobs becoming CEO of a growing family of four. Marion’s hands never slowed, taking care of every detail with love. When she wasn’t working to make their house a home, she liked to knit and crotchet as well as sew, making many Halloween and dance recital costumes over the years. Marion was very proud of her vegetable and flower garden which brought both beautiful sights and mouthwatering smells to her home. Outside of the home Marion dedicated time to her membership in the DAR, both in Downers Grove where she served as Regent from 1987-89 and The General John Stark Chapter in Sycamore. Both she and Don were members of the First Baptist Church in Downers Grove and later the Sycamore Baptist Church as well. She was a Girl Scout Leader and often served as an Election Judge. In her younger years she was a good swimmer and enjoyed summer weekends with her family on Lake Geneva in Wisconsin. She was a woman held in high esteem by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. Edwardsen of Rockford, IL. Charles W. Baldridge of Cave Creek, AZ. Elbert B. Baldridge of Scottsdale, AZ. Many nieces, nephews and a countryside full of friends.
