NAME Marjorie "Marge" Nelson, age 81 of Ocala, FL, formerly St. Charles, IL, passed away on November 17, 2006 following a battle with cancer. BORN: She was born on May 28, 1925 the daughter of Harry and Julia (Fagan) Hanson in Geneva, IL. EARLY YEARS :She grew in Geneva and attended local schools graduating from Geneva High School in 1943. Following graduation Marge went on to the University of Indiana for several years before returning to Geneva where she met Maurice Nelson on a golf course where he was a golf pro and caddied for Marge’s parents. MARRIAGE This would begin a life long love affair with Maurice and the game of golf which began when they were united in marriage in May of 1952. RESIDENTIAL HISTORY: They began their life together living in St. Charles, IL for twenty years before moving to Rochelle, IL. In 1991, Marge moved to Florida following Maurice’s passing in 1988. OCCUPATION / WORK HISTORY Marge worked at the State Bank in Geneva as a teller until 1972 when began working at Northern Illinois University where she retired prior to moving to Florida. MEMBERSHIPS Marge was a member of the Crimson Chapeau Chapter of the Red Hat Society as well as the local Moose Lodge in Ocala, FL. LIFE NOTES She loved to play golf at every opportunity and in later years was an avid Bridge and Pinochle player. SURVIVORS She now leaves two daughters:Kris (Roger) Flint of Maple Park, IL Gerry Pape of Daytona Beach;Two granddaughters:Leslie Flint of Maple Park, IL and Jamie Flint of Chadron, NE; Two nephews:David (Mary) O’Connell and their children Will and Julia, of Madison, WI, Greg (Debbie) O’Connell and their children Timothy and Christopher of MIThree grand-dogs, Greta, Max and Janie and a close family of friends. PRECEDED She now joins her parents, her husband Maurice and one sister, Barbara O’Connell who preceded her in death. MEMORIAL A memorial has been established in her name. A memorial visitation will be held from 10-11 am with memorial service to celebrate her life to be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 26th at Conley Funeral Home, 116 W. Pierce St., Elburn, IL. Rev. Jason Turner, pastor of the Kaneville United Methodist Church, will officiate.

Private family interment will follow at a later date.
