Marsha Thomas, age 77, of St. Charles, passed away from this world, Saturday, November 2, 2019, lifted by the love and prayers of her family to a celestial reunion with her husband Bruce and son Michael.
She was born February 26, 1942 in Chicago, IL, to proud parents, Vernon and Zella (Stacey) Scheunemann.
Marsha grew up in Lincolnwood, IL, and attended local schools. She graduated from Niles East High School. Following graduation she began working at A.B. Dick, a manufacturing company in Niles.
Bruce Thomas also worked at A.B. Dick and it was no surprise who caught his eye as she walked down the hall. The walked down the aisle too, hand in hand and heart to heart on August 12, 1961.
They began their new life together in Des Plaines. Their family began to grow as they were blessed with two children, Kimberly and Michael. After the kids grew and started families of their own, Marsha and Bruce followed them to St. Charles in 2000.
Marsha specialized in making their new house a home, continuing to care for everyone and everything.
Marsha’s heart was open to all and was home to many family and friends. She was a “neighborhood mom” to many and her social card was always full, just the way Marsha liked it. She was a voracious reader of fiction; any popular author would do, she also kept her hands busy with needle point. Marsha was famous for her exploits in the kitchen, making mouthwatering aromas waft throughout the house; everyone came running for her fudge and cranberry ice. Not a morning would pass without her daily trip to her favorite coffee place to have her cup of Dunkin. Penny, a miniature dachshund, was the apple of her eye, and made a home in the lap of both Bruce and after his passing, Marsha became her constant companion. The family faithfully watched their beloved Chicago Bears, cheering when they were good and offering colorful phrases when they weren’t. Marsha loved music as long as it had a beat, but she had a special place in her heart for Broadway shows like Phantom of the Opera. The love she had for her family was never ending, leaving a legacy of love and memories that will be cherished for generations.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Jo (Greg) Czaruk and three grandchildren: Dan (Lyn) Czaruk, Jonathon Czaruk and Steven Czaruk.
She is preceded by her parents, Vernon and Zella; husband Bruce Gerald Thomas, one son, Michael Bruce Thomas.
