NAME/ AGE Mary Lou Johnson, age 67, of Rockford, IL, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2005 at Divine Savior Hospital in Portage, WI. BORN She was born September 23, 1937, the daughter of Clyde and Doris (Rishel) Yarnal in Aurora, IL. CHILDHOOD Mary Lou grew up in Elburn and attended local schools. MARRIED She married Richard Johnson on September 27, 1975 in Batavia. They began their new life together in an apartment in Batavia for a time before moving to Rockford in 1978. In 1997, they bought a parcel of farm land in Wisconsin and built a home where they "escaped" every week for several days. LIFE NOTES Mary Lou’s heart was in her home where she raised a family and not only made a life time of meals, but treasured memories for herself and her family. Mary Lou also enjoyed playing the piano, refinishing furniture and tending her garden. Most recently she became an avid reader of the classics. SURVIVORS She now leaves her husband Richard, Seven Children:Katheryn (George) Michelini of Rockford, IL, David Henning of Houston, TX,Lynn (John) Oldenburg of Rockford, ILRuth Wheeler of Rockford, IL, Ann Johnson of Rockford, IL, David (Lisa) Johnson of Belvidere, IL, And Mary Jane (Jeff) Lindvall of Belvidere, IL13 Grandchildren:Paul, Tim, Jenny, Michael, Abby, Ryan, Sadie, Heather, Matthew, Bailey, Katie, Laurie, and Maggie;2 Great Grandchildren, Tyler and Devin;And a family of friends. VISITATION Friends may call at Conley Funeral Home, 116 W. Pierce St., Elburn, IL from 10-11a.m., Monday, March 14. SERVICES A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 11 a.m., also at Conley Funeral Home. Rev. Ric Magtanong, pastor of the Kaneville United Methodist Church.

Interment will follow at Kaneville Cemetery.
