Maurice “Moe” Bickford Sr., 85, entered heaven’s gates on June 8, 2016. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in Jesus Christ supported him throughout his final days and ultimately gave him peace.
Moe was born to the late Everett and Bernice Bickford in Rochester, NH on October 27, 1930. He gave his life to Christ at an early age and lived out his faith throughout his life. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1954. He graduated from Plymouth State College, Plymouth, NH in 1962 with a degree in education. He taught elementary school in Milan, NH and then moved to Oxnard, CA where he accepted a position with Rio School District, where he taught for 30+ years.
Moe was blessed with a large and loving family. He married his best friend, Carol Pierce, on March 18, 1967 in Ventura, CA. Moe, alongside his wife, raised his four children with faith, love, patience, discipline and humility. He taught them to love God and live their lives for Him.
Moe was an educator at heart. He was kind and soft-spoken, and always had time to answer a question or tell a story. He taught Sunday School for many years and served faithfully as an elder of Coastline Bible Church in Ventura, CA. He is dearly missed by his family, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his creator.
Moe is survived by his wife, Carol; his sons Shorey and Kevin; his daughters Marjory Hartman and Christina Vinogradoff; his grandchildren Emily and Grace Bickford, Ben, Nick and Nathaniel Hartman, Christal and Devlin Bickford; his brother, Carroll Bickford and sister, Phyllis Hedberg.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to breast cancer research in honor of his wife and daughter’s victory over cancer or Samaritan’s Purse, a charity close to his heart.

Moe’s life will celebrated by his family in St. Charles, IL on June 11, 2016 and services will be held at a later date at Coastline Bible Church, Ventura, CA.
