NANCY FORMANAge 72 of St. Charles, formerly of Glen Ellyn, passed away peacefully, Thursday evening, Aug. 4, 2005, at the Bethany Care Center, DeKalb, where she had recently become a resident.BORN:/ EARLY YEARS :She was born January 18, 1933 in Burlington, IA. The family moved to LaGrange, IL, when Nancy was a child and later to Brookfield, IL, where her mother cared for ill and elderly residents in her own home. Thus, Nancy learned to be a caregiver at an early age and spent the rest of her life looking after others.MARRIAGE On January 30, 1954 she was united in marriage to William "Bill" Joseph Forman in Berwyn, IL. They made their home there for a short time until they bought their first home in Cicero, on Austin Blvd. In 1961 they moved to Chicago where they lived on south Melvina. That was home until 1966 when they moved to Glen Ellyn. In those years, Bill was diagnosed with heart disease and battled declining health until 1975, when he passed away. Nancy continued to live in Glen Ellyn until 1981 when she moved to Glendale Heights. Her work as a Nanny later took her to Indianapolis and then to Culver, Indiana. There she was "mom" to a hundred high school girls at a local academy. It was hard work but she loved the girls and took her role in their lives personally. Returning to Illinois, Nancy cherished her position as a Nanny for several years in Downers Grove until her retirement, when she became a resident at Carroll Towers, St. Charles. Shopping at the nearby Blue Goose, she still bought groceries like she was feeding a family and looked after friends and neighbors at the towers, where she volunteered for the meals-on-wheels program and was a floor supervisor as well. In recent months, her diabetic condition and the early onset of Alzheimers, began to rob her of her coveted role as caregiver. It was hard for her to allow her children to become the caregivers, but care they did, until at last, Nancy moved one last time from Bethany Care to God’s Care.SURVIVORS She is survived by four children: Nanette Bruce of St.Charles, ILAnd her family: Clayton and RobertWendy Stark of Larimore, North DakotaAnd her family: Joseph, Nicholas, Katie , Wm.
