Patricia Ann “Pat” Calabrese, age 68, of Elburn, passed away quietly into the night and woke to a celestial morning, December 3, 2019.
She was born July 20, 1951 in Chicago to proud parents, George and Bernice (Bialek) Schneider.
Pat grew up in Chicago on Mango, attending local schools. She graduated from Alvernia High School with the class of 1969. In addition to her diploma, she received the love and devotion from Anthony “Tony” Calabrese. This high school romance would continue for over 50 years, but it wasn’t until April 11, 1970 that they walked down the aisle hand in hand and heart to heart at St. Pricilla Catholic Church in Chicago.
They began their new life with family for a time, before making a home in different parts of the city. At each stop, Pat would work her magic, making each house a home.
Pat worked as a receptionist at several companies over the years including Auth-Florence.
Pat had a love affair with bowling, knocking down ten pins in countless tournaments, enough that she made a name for herself among fellow bowlers. She liked to collect frogs, garnering the nickname “Froggy”, as her collection boasted everything frog. Vacations with friends to Alaska, Boston, Spain, and others brought many wonderful memories to cherish. Pat had a generous heart and lived to care for her family and friends, doting on her loving husband Tony, and was a whiz when it came to making milkshakes.
She is survived by her loving husband of over 50 years, Anthony Calabrese Sr.; three sons: Anthony Calabrese Jr., Joseph Calabrese, Jeffrey (Jenny) Calabrese and their children: Jeffrey, Allison and Jonathan; One brother, George (Joann) Schneider; many nieces, nephews, cousins and a family of friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Bernice Schneider and a sister, Gloria Miller.
