Patricia “Pat” Wolf, age 89, of Elgin, formerly of Maple Park, IL, passed away quietly into the arms of her savior on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin.

She was born October 15, 1926, in Sioux Falls, SD, the daughter of Raymond and Marguerite (Almount) Kenyon.

Pat grew up in Sioux Falls and graduated from local schools.

She was united in marriage to Wilbur “Bill” Wolf on May 13, 1945.

Like many other men that year, he shipped out with the U.S. Army shortly after the wedding and served in Germany and France during WWII. He returned home to civilian life and his beautiful wife in 1947.

Bill and Pat made their home in Henry for a time before moving to Virgil, IL. Bill found work at the Elburn Packing Plant as a night foreman while Pat made their house a home. In 1946 they welcomed home their daughter Lee and in 1947, a son Michael; their family now complete.

Pat was a parishioner of S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Virgil and served as a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.

Pat was the ultimate hostess, chief cook and bottle washer and she was particularly gifted in the garden. Many family parties were had in honor of the children and later grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even great-great grandchildren but no one ever will forget her infamous wine parties and card club get- togethers. She was known to make the rounds on service calls with Bill in a beat up old pick-up that became a familiar sight in the community. In their younger years they were famous for cutting a rug at local dances. They would literally clear the dance floor for Bill and Pat to show others “how it’s done”. Though they usually danced the Lindy, Pat would follow Bill’s lead, step for step, without either of them having to say a word. They continued to make memories on the dance floor into their sixties. Upon his retirement in 1990, they moved to Mountain Home, AR. After Bill’s passing in 1992, Pat moved back to IL to be near her family. Declining health brought her into the care of Tower Hill Healthcare Center where she has made her home in recent years.

She is survived by her son Michael (Maureen) Wolf; her daughter, Lee (Larry) Olesen; Ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren (with two more on the way!); many nieces, nephews and a family of friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband Bill Wolf and one grandson, Michael Wolf.
