Robert “Bob” E. Jump, age 74 of Hinkley, went to be with his Lord on Friday, July 21, 2017 at Bethany Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in DeKalb.

Bob was born Wednesday, September 24, 1942 in Aurora, the beautiful son of Elmer L. and Minnie I (Raney) Jump.

Bob lived in Elburn until his father Elmer went to work on a farm in Big Rock. Bob and his siblings attended Big Rock schools. The Jump family then moved to North Aurora, but Bob felt the need complete his intermediate schooling in Big Rock. A year later they were on the moved again from North Aurora to Sugar Grove where he attended school. The family finally settled in Maple Park where Bob graduated from Kaneland High School. After high school Bob found his passion, ceramics. He enjoyed making lace dolls and banks. Bob took his art to the Sandwich Fair where his projects were judged. He brought home 1st and 2nd ribbons for his banks.

Bob worked for Avery in Rochelle, where they made notebooks and paper products for schools, for many years, he then worked for a finance company in Rochelle and Sycamore for a short time. Bob then felt the calling to help keep the halls of Kishwukee College in Malta and Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove clean. He worked as a janitor for a number of years until his retirement.

Aside from his passion of ceramics, Bob enjoyed gardening. He was known to visit his two sisters Anna Mae in Sublette and Myrtle in DeKalb to help them take care of their flower gardens.

Bob leaves behind his three siblings; Anna Mae Willavize, Richard L. (Nellie) Jump, and Myrtle M. Medernach, many nieces and nephews, and three cousins.

He now joins his parents; Elmer L. and Minnie I. (Raney) Jump, two siblings; Betty J. Jump, David W. Jump, three brother-in-laws, three sister-in-laws, three nephews, and two great nieces.

Cremations have been accorded and there will be a graveside service at a later date in September of 2017.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Bob’s name. Checks may be made to the “American Cancer Society” and mailed in care of P.O. Box 66, Elburn, 60119. Tributes may also be forwarded to the same address, the Conley Funeral Home Facebook Page, or at www.conleycare.com.
