ROBERT E. SPELLMEYER, age 80, of Hampshire, passed away at home, surrounded by the love and prayers of his family, Friday, November 20, 2015.
He was born October 22, 1935, in Elgin, the son of Harold and Virginia (Knox) Spellmeyer.
Bob grew up in Elgin and attended local schools. Following graduation from Elgin High School, Bob attended Northern Illinois University.
He heard the call of his country and was a proud veteran of the United States Army.
Bob was united in marriage to the love of his life, Marjorie Faber, on May 25, 1963, at St. Gall Catholic Church in Elburn, IL.
He was a founding partner of Borhart, Spellmeyer & Company Accounting Firm in Elgin, IL. Bob was a practicing CPA for 53 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Marjorie (Faber) Spellmeyer; Two children: Grant (Sarah Brennan) Spellmeyer and Neal (Grace Carpenter) Spellmeyer; Five grandchildren: Brennan, Gavin, Quinlyn, Avery and Lucy Spellmeyer and two sisters: Audrey (Edward) Harman and Barbara Peters; two brothers-in-law: Raymond (Lola) Faber and Glenn (Jane) Faber and a sister-in-law, Helen Faber.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers-in-law, Joseph Peters and Fred Faber.

A mass to celebrate his faith will begin at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at South Burlington Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9:30-10:15 a.m., Saturday, November 28, 2015, at St. Laurence Catholic Church, 565 Standish St., Elgin, IL.
