LIFE NOTES Rob loved spending some of his free time during his summers fishing up in Ludington, Michigan with his brother Jon and his Indiana friends. What a blast those guys had together. Fishing in Canada for two weeks in 1971 was a big thrill for Rob because he caught a 14lb Northern Pike on the very last day of our vacation. Two of the most important people in Rob’s life was his two sons, Mark and Jason. Mark was born in 1971 and Jason was born in 1973. Rob loved the family vacations with Carol’s grandparents Grandpa and Grandma Bannon. They spent several summers in the upper Peninsula of Michigan. He loved the rugged way of living there. In those days Rob and Carol stayed in a log cabin with no running water-just a hand pump in the kitchen, kerosene lights and a wood burning stove for heat at night. An outhouse for our toilet, But we didn’t mind at all. They loved every minute of the times they spent together. There was a Model A Ford car at the cottage which was kept in the garage. It belonged to our relative and he drove us in that old car into the back woods to lakes where no one else ever fished. We always came home with a stringer of bass, bluegills and perch.Without a doubt the other two precious people in Rob’s life were his two wonderful grandchildren, Amanda and Zachary.
